Atlanta Chihuly
So the discovery of this piece of heaven was pure Divine intervention. In 2004 we were in Atlanta for a meeting with one free afternoon. Chihuly at the Botanical Garden was a sure hit so we hopped in a cab and headed over. We've been fans of Chihuly glass for years having seen exhibitions in Portland and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. (I know the V and A seems a ridiculous place for Chihuly glass, but it was fabulous!) More amazing than anything we'd seen, the Atlanta exhibit had a touch of his work in Venice with fountains of water and glass, floating orbs of color in the ponds, and sculptures in the glass houses. There was glass everywhere. So much, in fact, I found I wasn't noticing plant material at all... just bathing in color and glass.
