Liz Garnand : Artist's Statement

I was known by my parents for keeping a pencil in my sock, and until high school I wanted to be a cartoonist. Instead, I graduated college with a business degree and had a career in marketing. I kept my artistic voice to the side, reserved for vacations and the occasional weekend.

Teaching art to children as a volunteer and leading an arts council has helped me to rediscover my creative voice. I love subtle vibrancy in the color palette, the play of light in all surroundings and the mood of serenity and meaning in the every-day.
